Beverly Ellen Smith

Beverly E. (Gray) Smith, 83, of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away on November 5th, 2026, surrounded by family. She lived life to the fullest.

She is survived by her children: Troy (Fran) Smith, Michelle (Jon) Tapscott, Misty (Kurtis) Hawkins, and Tammy Reeder.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chris (Amy) Reeder, Amber Wofford, Chris (Paula) Bechtold, Erik (Sarah) Stover, Tara Johndrow, Corey (Brittany) Bechtold, Justin (Ashley) Reeder, Sara Vancil, Kayla (Ryan) Barr, Kevin Smith, and Dustee (Noel) Deshotel; a special friend, Gerry Cook; and numerous great-grandchildren, including Loralei, Ryder, Olivia, David, Emma, Aubrey, Kynlee, Aiden, Hadley, Oliver Ray, Dawson, Drake, Hudson, Parker, Maggie, Anna, Mercedes, Kaiden, Victor, Misty, Kurtis, Peyton, Sean, Lucas, and Maverick, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brothers, Jerry Gray and Dewayne Gray; sisters, Rose McCoy and Betty Hawkins; and brother-in-law, Howard Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Smith; daughter, Debra Griffin; sons-in-law, David Reeder and Ron Griffin; and her parents, Robert and Louise Gray.

Cremation services were entrusted to Paynic Home for Funerals. Memorials can be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be at her home, 3770 Culp Lane in Bethalto on Saturday, November 14 at 12pm.
