Beverly Ann (O'Connor) Stutz, 84, of Foster Township, IL, passed away at 8:07 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 1, 1940 in Alton to the late James Robert O'Connor & Hattie Irene (Heinkel) O'Connor.
On October 14, 1961, she and Edward Paul Stutz were married at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Alton. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Beverly was a secretary for the Army Depot in Granite City, IL from 1957-1962. At that time, she left her career to raise her family. In 1984, she became the Administrative Assistant for Foster Township until she retired in 2005. She was a long-standing member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto where she volunteered her skills in teaching various religion classes. She also volunteered with the Fosterburg Mothers Club and the Optimist Soccer Club. She and her family were known in the Foster Township area for farming, raising and showing Quarter horses. Trail rides and camping on her property in Southern Missouri are some of the family's most fond memories. Her passions, other than her family, were working on the minute details and records of our family genealogy. Beverly enjoyed crafts of all mediums; including knitting, crocheting, painting & weaving.
