Carol Lee Colyer, 87, of East Alton, IL, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Wed. Oct. 7, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

She was born May 31, 1933 in Alton, IL to the late Lloyd Virgil & Gladys Irene (Painter) McKinney.

On Apr. 17, 1957, she and Robert E. Colyer were married in Corinth, MS.  He preceded her in death in Dec. 2000.

Carol had been a Dictaphone operator at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City for 20 years.  She was a member of the Wood River Moose and loved to read and be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: a daughter: Kimberly (Darrel) Fraser of East Alton; 2 sons: Robert E. Colyer Jr. of Cape Girardeau, MO and David M. (Crystal) Colyer of Bethalto, IL; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Betty McKinney of Oklahoma City, OK; and a brother-in-law: Omer DeJarnett of Louisville, KY.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister-in-law: Ralph Virgil and Donna McKinney and Donald Keith; and a sister: Betty DeJarnett.

The family will hold a private graveside service in McClure, IL.
