Alton—Dorothy Marie Caito, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis.

Born July 21, 1952 in Alton, she was a daughter of John William and Dorothy Elaine (Rice) Mayberry.

She married Jerry Lee Caito, Sr. March 15, 1970 in Alton.  He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2019.

Survivors include her children, Tonia (Rick) Smith of South Roxana, Jerry Lee (Holly) Caito, Jr. of Alton, Gary Caito of Alton, and Melissa Caito of Alton; 10 grandchildren, Christopher Caito, Madyson Caito, Ryan Caito, Nicholas Caito, Jacob Caito, Cora Caito, Arianna Hall, Serena Caito, Kayla Hall and Dominic Hall; one great grandson, Tarelle Hall; and three sisters, Mamie "Stinky" Wheat and Goldie Ryffel, both of Missouri and Marty "Butterball" Hoerle of Florida.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny William Mayberry.
