Dorothy May "Dot" Gallagher, 93, of Moro, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

Born Dec. 27, 1928 in Alton, she was a daughter of Carl E. and Ethel Flora (Eyer) Howard.

A 1946 graduate of Alton High School, she retired as a teller from Illinois State Bank of East Alton.  She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with her friends.  She also loved to dance.  She was very family-oriented and her daughters say she was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Her daughters include Vonna Proctor of Wake Forest, NC, Cheryl (George) Miller of Moro, and Judy (Bob) Kissack of Glen Carbon.  She is also survived by five grandchildren, Barbara (Loren) Morgan, Scott (Dian) Miller, Shannon (Erik) Nystrom, Carey (Mark) Little, and Christy (Mike) Irving; eight great grandchildren, Madeline, Jake, Isaac, Brady, Jackson, Marissa, Cameron, and Claire; and a brother, Wayne (Alice) Howard of Brighton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ethol Owens and Betty Jones; and a son-in-law, Dan Proctor.

Private family services will be held.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Missouri Chapter or OSF Home Health & Hospice.
