Rosewood Heights—Gwendolyn May Oliver, 91, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Jerseyville Manor.

Born March 13, 1928 in Sorento, IL, she was a daughter of John Alva and Rose G. (May) Ash.

She married William Dwayne Oliver Dec. 7, 1956 in Alton.  He preceded her in death June 18, 2018.

Gwendolyn worked as an associate for Sears and later for Dugger Swimming Pools.  She was an avid reader and gardener, growing tomatoes, other vegetables, and flowers.

Survivors include a daughter, Laurel Galeener of Wood River; two sons, Daniel (Connie) Knight of Wichita, KS and Brian (Sue Zumwalt) Oliver of Lake St. Louis, MO; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Martin of East Alton.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Peach.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jerseyville Manor.
