Alton—Janet B. Scobell, 76, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 31, 1947 in Waimea, HI, she was a daughter of Alejandro Aquino, Sr. and Rose (Kahiamoe) Aquino.

She married James Scobell July 9, 1997.  He preceded her in death July 26, 2022.

Janet's favorite pastime was fishing.  She also enjoyed taking care of her plants and dancing hula.  She worked for many years as the VIP Manager for Alton Belle Casino, and prior to that had worked at various other jobs, including assistant manager of Goodwill in Alton.

Survivors include her children, Michael Caberto, Jr. of Kekaha, HI, Clifford (Marc Walz) Caberto of Kapaa, HI, Carl (Christine) Caberto of Koloa, HI, Jacque (Lesa) Jacoby, III of Gaston, SC, and Kristina Ottwell of Alton; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Rosita (Dave) Sanders of Austin, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest son, Eddie Caberto; her brother, Alejandro Aquino, Jr.; and a sister, Angie Napulou.
