Jo Lynn McLoughlin

Wood River—Jo Lynn McLoughlin, 76, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at BJC Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO.

Born Aug. 9, 1950 in Alton, she was a daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Prather) Grace.

Jo married Robert “Bob” McLoughlin Oct. 7, 1995 and they shared 31 years of marriage.

Jo served as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force as a psychiatric nurse. After her Air Force service, she worked for South City Health for 4 years, Center Point Hospital working with adolescents for 12 years, and finally Alton Memorial Hospital working with geriatric patients until her retirement. She worked at Busch Stadium as an usher and loved the St. Louis Cardinals, the atmosphere and her co-workers there. She enjoyed going for rides up the river road after she got her frozen coke from QT, and Saturday mornings were spent listening to America’s Top 40 with Casey Kasem.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carla (Jeremy) Newberry of Wood River and son Todd Miller of Colorado; 3 grandsons that she loved dearly, Nik, Brody, and Adam Newberry; one great granddaughter, Sage; a brother, Robert (Beth) Grace, Jr. of Union, MO; a sister, Penny Forshe of Winona, MN; and her beloved dog, Paden.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Don Forshe.

Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
