Brighton—Joseph Romano, 61, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at his home.

He was born Apr. 8, 1963 in Alton.  His mother, Norma Lee Romano and adoptive father, David Anthony Romano, preceded him in death.

Joe had worked as an auto body repairman for Ron's Autobody and Used Cars in Alton.  Most recently he worked at Farm & Home in Alton in their small engine repair department, a job he loved.  He also enjoyed survivalist activities and being outdoors in general, and he was talented at creating small scale models of military vehicles in their environments.  He loved his dogs, especially Max.

He married Sandra K. (Hanneken) Titus Oct. 5, 2003.  She survives, along with her sons, Ben (Natalie) Titus of Jerseyville and Brandon (Kristy Watters) Titus of Bethalto; a sister, Deana Murch of Wisconsin and a brother, Jimmy Romano of Florida; and his biological father, Dallas Elfgen of Grafton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Romano in February 2005.
