Joseph Rook 69, of Holiday Shores passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born November 16, 1956 in Alton. Joseph married Lisa (Smith) Droege December 16, 2005 in Edwardsville. He worked at American Metal Recycling where he retired from in 2023.

In his free time, he enjoyed watching professional sports, fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Rook; father, David Rook; two sons, Bryan (Amada) Smith and Adam (Dawn) Smith; grandchildren, Kayla, Drake, Peyton and Colton Smith; sister, Melissa (Bob) Perica and niece, Tess Perica and Leigh (Jack) Chassaing and their daughter, Charlotte Chassaing; sister, Michelle Weaver and nephew, Joseph (Val) Weaver and their children, Carsyn, Jack and Yale Weaver and nephew Luke (Kourtney) Weaver and their children, Evi, Greyer, Loch and Rowdy Weaver; mother-in-law, Loretta Droege; brothers and sisters in law on wife side, Jeff Droege, Kim Fulbright, Tim (Kathy) Droege, Craig (Retta) Droege, Dana (Carl) Loy, Tara (Jason) Weirich and Marty (Jamie) Droege and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Forsting) Rook; father-in-law, Howard Droege; brother-in-law Lon Weaver and sister-in-law, Bonnie Droege.
