Obituary

Holiday Shores—Scott A. Hodges, 53, passed away on July 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born Nov. 16, 1969 in Taylorville, IL, he was the son of Ralph Hodges and the late Ann (Emmerson) Hodges.

Scott worked as a Journeyman for many Chrysler Dealerships over his career of 33 years.  He loved working at Dave Taylor, Chrysler and the team was very dear to his heart.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, kayaking, boating, fishing, riding around in his golf cart, and camping across the country.  He was a member of the Metro Community Church in Edwardsville and was a faithful member of the men's bible study group.  His favorite thing in the world was sunset cruises in Clearwater Florida with his wife. He would say " Look what GOD painted for us tonight, even though we are not worthy." He loved Jesus!

He married his wife, Melanie on Aug. 28, 2018 in Carlyle, IL.  She survives, as well as their blended family of eight children, Christopher Hodges of Shelbyville, IN, Nicholas (Beth) Hodges of Franklin, IN, Kelsey (Matthew) Alward and Samantha Hodges, all of Moweaqua, IL, Seth (Ashley) Fink of Bethalto, Alexander Fink of O'Fallon, IL, Jack Kassab and Jett Kassab, both of Parker, CO; his 4 grandchildren, Dean Fink, James Hodges, Vincent Hodges, and Reagan Hodges; 2 sisters, Beth (Jim) Butler of Blue Mound, IL and Jennifer (Jamey) Higginbotham of Gillespie, Sister-in-law Brandi Adair of Wood River and his father and stepmother, Ralph and Judy Hodges of Taylorville. Scott was preceded in death by his mother Anne Hodges (Emmerson).

Visitation will be at Metro Community Church in Edwardsville from noon until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to the Hodge Family with intention to create a scholarship for a Mission Trip. It was his dream, in retirement to serve as missionaries.

Arrangements have been made through Paynic Home for Funerals, with online information and guestbook at www.paynicfh.com.
