East Alton—Thomas Ray Whitehead, Jr., 31, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his home.

Born Nov. 15, 1988 in Alton, he was a son of Thomas R. Whitehead, Sr. and Deborah (Johnson) Whitehead of Alton.

He mainly worked on cars, but did many odd jobs throughout his life.  He was a funny guy, always ready with a joke.  He was Superman to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

He married his wife, Shawn Whitehead on Sept. 3, 2010 in Edwardsville.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; a daughter, Rainey Phillips of Alton; three sisters, Lavada (Louis) Fischer of Hartford, Taylor Whitehead of Wood River, and Hannah Whitehead of Alton; a brother, Aaron Whitehead of Alton; three stepchildren, Alexis and Justin Luttrell and Jordon Butts, and Alexis' daughter, Ella, all of Decatur, IL; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his best friend, Andre Morgan.

Due to Covid-19 crowd restrictions, private family services will be held at Paynic Home for Funerals, with burial at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
