Virginia "Gail" Shaw, 78, of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17th, 2020. She was born on February 11th, 1942. She is survived by her lifelong husband of over 60 years, Arthur "Artie" Shaw. The high school sweethearts have resided in Bethalto their entire life. Gail was a beautiful soul to everyone she met, and was known for making the best homemade peanut butter cookies this side of the Mississippi each Christmas.

Gail is also survived by her brother, Wayne Edeleman, her four children; Jeff & Rhonda Shaw of Kentucky, Kristin & Todd Dailey of Bethalto, Lisa Pruitt of Bethalto, Melissa McClusky & Terry Patterson of Wood River, her grandchildren; Brittney Dailey, TJ Dailey, Austin, Taylor, & Daylin McClusky, Payton Patterson, Cody Anders, Holly Barton, Amber O'Malley, Dakota Stowers, Stephanie Kimbro, her beloved friend Tracy Shaw, & several great grandchildren including Carson & Kynlee McClusky, & Carter Gleason.
