William "Bill" James Batts, 83, of Bethalto, IL, passed away at 5:43 p.m. Mon. Aug. 10, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.  He was born Apr. 3, 1937 in Williamson County, IL on the Otto Jennings farm to the late William Orville and Eunice (Jennings) Batts.  He and Evelyn Stpanovich were married in Alton in 1961.  She preceded him in death June14, 2011.  Bill retired from Owens IL Glass.

He is survived by a nephew: Steven (Priscilla) Lindsay of Marion, IL; 2 brothers-in-law: Charles (Lori) Percy of Seymour, TN and James Louis Lindsay of Marion.  Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Lindsay.
